In the Name of the Breeze (36×24)

In the Name of the Breeze was created in the spring of 2021 when the heat of the year was just starting to roll in. The light was held back by clouds until mid day when it started streaming through the canopy. Painted en plein air in the Old Grove of City Park while music drifted across the Bayou Metairie.

This is an original oil painting on canvas measuring 36x24x1.5 inches. The painting continues on the edges. It is signed on the bottom left in oil paint and on the back in pencil with the title and year. It is varnished and unframed.

The name is inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poem:

And of the Butterfly –
